SFRC x UTCT Saturday Group Run - June 14th, 2025

Regular price $0.00

Shake out your legs, fire up the grill — SFRC meets UTCT.
Presented by adidas TERREX

San Francisco Running Company is teaming up with RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town for the first time ever. We’re bringing a little slice of South Africa to the Marin trails, and you’re invited.

Join us Saturday, June 14 for a pre-race season group run with fuel from Naak, trail demos from adidas TERREX, and plenty of good company. We’ll roll out around 8-ish, then come back together for an authentic South African braai hosted by Rob McBride.

Expect post-run drinks, boerewors rolls fresh off the grill, gear giveaways, and a laid-back hang with the trail community. It’s all happening the weekend before Broken Arrow and Western States — the perfect kickoff before things get spicy.

Date: Saturday, June 14
Time: Run rolls out around 8:00 AM
Location: San Francisco Running Company, 247 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley, CA

Run. Braai. Repeat.

What to Expect:

  • Two distance options - 7 & 14 miles
  • Nutrition support by Naak
  • adidas TERREX trail shoe demos
  • South African-style braai hosted by our resident Saffa
  • Post-run drinks, food, and giveaways
  • No registration fee — just show up and vibe

About RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town® (UTCT)

RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town (UTCT) ® hosts a variety of trail races that traverse the rugged mountain trails of the Cape Peninsula. Known as one of the world’s most scenic and technical ultramarathon destinations, Cape Town is shaped by two oceans and defined by Table Mountain National Park, a dramatic natural wonder stretching from Table Bay to Cape Point.

UTCT offers six distances — 100 miler, 100km, 55km, 35km, 23km, and 16km — each one a demanding adventure across steep, technical terrain. The UTCT 100 miler connects the northern and southern mountain ranges of the Mother City, with 7,516 meters of vertical gain and expansive views from Silvermine to Simonstown.

Other races cross iconic landmarks like Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak, the 12 Apostles trail, Hout Bay, and the Constantia Winelands — all part of one of the Natural Seven Wonders of the World.

Runners should expect highly technical terrain, wild temperature shifts, and true mountain conditions despite the race taking place in the South African summer.

UTCT is a bucket-list race for good reason. This is your chance to get to know it from the ground up.
